Housekeeper / Caretaker
Play a vital role behind the scenes at the UK's leading fertility provider. JD Healthcare is seeking a Housekeeper / Caretaker to keep our clinics safe, clean and running smoothly.
About Us
JD Healthcare Group is one of the UK's leading fertility and reproductive healthcare providers, operating brands including London Women's Clinic, London Egg Bank, London Sperm Bank, KindIVF, Surrey Park Women's Clinic and Elective Egg Freezing across the United Kingdom. Since 1985, we have been supporting individuals and families through some of the most significant journeys of their lives — combining world-class clinical expertise with genuine human care. Everything we do is driven by a shared purpose: helping people build the families they dream of.
About the Role
As Housekeeper / Caretaker at JD Healthcare, you will play an essential role in keeping our clinic environments safe, clean, compliant and well-presented. Working as part of the wider Facilities Management team, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across clinical, laboratory, technical and office spaces, while also supporting building security, compliance checks, waste management and general site operations. This is a hands-on, varied role that requires reliability, attention to detail and a genuine pride in maintaining the highest standards — because the environment our patients experience matters just as much as the care they receive.
What You Will Do
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across all designated areas including laboratories, clinical spaces, offices and communal areas, following established cleaning schedules and SOPs
Check, clean and replenish washroom facilities regularly and manage laundry tasks including microfibre cloths, mop heads and scrub suits
Manage all waste streams including general, clinical and external waste in line with regulations and internal procedures
Receive, check and distribute deliveries, and maintain storage areas in a safe, organised and well-presented condition
Support building security — including maintaining key logs, securing the building at the end of each working day and being available on call for emergency situations
Conduct compliance checks including fire alarm panel testing, emergency lighting and water treatment logging, and act as Fire Marshal when required
Assist with office relocations, furniture adjustments, and ensuring accessible patient access to the premises including for wheelchair users
Carry out small repairs and maintenance tasks, and liaise with the FM team to ensure all buildings and surrounding areas are safe, functional and fit for purpose
Order cleaning materials and ensure all relevant paperwork is accurately completed and filed in both hard copy and digital formats
